The further development of the popular Bloomstar PAR Meter, now with ePAR sensor! The Bloomstar ePAR Meter measures the extended PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density including far red) from 400-750 nm and also displays the corresponding DLI.
The definition of photosynthetically active radiation has been expanded. Studies have shown that far-red light also contributes significantly to photosynthesis. The sensor detects the extended PAR range (extended PAR) of 400-750 nm, so that a meaningful measurement of light and radiation for plants is possible.
The measuring device for DLI and PPFD helps to recognise common errors such as hotspots, light stress or insufficient lighting and to take action. The number of photosynthetically active photons absorbed significantly determines the photosynthesis rate and therefore the yield in horticulture. If the lighting is set too high, high energy costs can be incurred. In this case, optimising the DLI saves money.
In plant lighting, the focus is increasingly on achieving homogeneous illumination. With the Bloomstar PAR meter, you can measure the PPFD to determine the Optimum hanging height and dimming level of your light. The device is also extremely practical for troubleshooting, checking ageing luminaires / light sources and doubts about the manufacturer's specifications.
With the spiral cable supplied, you can carry out PPFD measurements quickly and conveniently "by hand". A second, 5m long cable is included, for example to carry out stationary, longer-term measurements with the logging function (e.g. greenhouse). The sensor part has a 1/4″ thread for mounting on tripods and other devices.
You can always keep an eye on the measured values on the large LCD display. The Bloomstar extended PAR sensor is powered by two AAA batteries (included).
